Information: Leading online restaurant gift certificate provider, Restaurant.com will offer an unprecedented $30 million in free restaurant gift certificates to consumers nationwide this holiday season in an effort to defy the economic downturn and promote the spirit of giving. Beginning Nov. 26 and running through Christmas Day, consumers can give up to three free $10 gift certificates everyday for 30 days to anyone of their choice – friends, family, co-workers and more, near and far.
The initiative, called “Feed It Forward,” is built upon a single giving Web site Restaurant.com/FeedItForward, http://www.restaurant.com/FeedItForward, that is stocked with a total of three million, $10 Restaurant.com gift certificates totaling $30 million. The site allows gift givers to choose who to give to and gift recipients to decide where to dine among more than 5,000 participating restaurants nationwide with the goal to inspire consumers to come together during a time when so many are struggling. “We can let recent setbacks dampen our holiday spirit, or we can choose to stand up, give from the heart and brighten the days of many people near and far,” said president and CEO of Restaurant.com Cary Chessick.
